Meet a Trader: Sophie – English Rose Salon

‘As a small girl, I always loved to played with my mums hair’

Growing up as a child, Sophie was told she would be unable to attend hairdressing school. Her parents were a very traditional family from Iran, they wanted Bigger and Better for her such as a University Degree or something in a professional field.

Miss Sophie studied at University for 4 1/2 years and became an IT Engineer, Sophie then started working as as an Inspector for a travel agent scheduling international flights for Airlines in the civil aviation organization and did so for 10 years.

Sophie has 5 sisters – 1 in America, 1 in England and 3 in Iran – All progessionals Pharmacist, English Teacher, Architect, master of environmental enginneering and an IT engineer. Very Proud Parents.

While going for job interviews asfter she had received her degree, a certain gentleman called Ebi interviewed her for a job in his company. Unfortunately Rose did not get this particular job …. but she got the man…. Soon after she married her Handsome Husband Ebi in Iran, at this time he was working as a Chemical Engineer.

August 2012 – Rose and Ebi came to Australia, Adelaide

Sophie and Ebi spent 1 year in Adelaide, before moving to Roxby Downs South Australia for 3 years where Sophie did Administration for A Noble & Sons. Sophie and Ebi then became pregnant with their son Dylan and moved to the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne.

Niaori says ‘After losing my hairdresser during covid I googled hairdressers near me and found English Rose. They were able to fit me in and did an amazing job to boot. I was so impressed that they are my new regular hairdresser.
Friendly staff and they do a great job hiding the greys. Definitely recommend.’

Sophie needed a change of career, she was thinking Army, a little tricky with a baby on the way…. Decided to follow her dreams and went to school in 2015 to become the hairdresser that we know today.

Sophies’s love for the Hairdressing industry saw her gain work in Salons in Glen Waverly, Prahan, Doncaster and then opened her Salon at her home. Ebi and Sophie decided she needed to grow and branch out to bigger and better things,

December 1st 2020 – Sophie Opened English Rose Salon

It has been an extremely bumpy start to a new Business for Sophie, but she holds her head high and muscles through each day to create beautiful hair for women, men and children. Her favorite skill is colour and the chance to transform your style into a better fit to make people feel great about themselves.

Krystal started at Imani as an Apprentice 18 years ago. When Sophie purchased the business, Krystal came over with her, she has many years of experience. She is a great support and friend to Sophie.

Although Sophie is a busy lady she loves to get out and have Breakfast, take a drive in the countryside. Spend time with her Staffy / Boxer Mickey, and loves hanging out with her son Dylan.
